Dr. LaToya René Robertson is an educator and composer who grew up in an under-resourced neighborhood and became a TEDx speaker, an accredited television music composer, a consultant, an educator, a three-time author, a world traveler, and an implicit bias expert.
As a consultant, she works with leaders in corporations and colleges to improve performance: employee engagement, goal management, implicit bias, and diversity retention.
As a composer, she creates music that enhances scenes and builds emotion, drawing on classical training and world music. Most of her work has aired on television, and she is moving further into film and gaming.
As a speaker, she shares what it takes to work in male-dominated industries, pursue goals, dare to stand out, overcome adversity, and find lasting happiness.
She has developed first-year programs at her alma mater, placed music on NBC, MTV, BET, TBS, and truTV, toured internationally, and completed three books. Her proof point: it is not how you start, but your motivation to succeed.
